Ghee and Beetroot Lip Tint
A tiny bit of ghee with one drop of beetroot juice is used as a light lip tint, not as a dye. It can mark a napkin and may leave a soft pink until you wipe it. It does not color the lips for good.

About this ghee beetroot lip tint
This is a pinch of a mix: a little ghee and a single drop of fresh beetroot juice. It is dabbed on the lips as a light tint you can wipe away. It is not a dye, and it is not meant to stain the lips on purpose. Beetroot can still mark cloth and leave a soft pink until it is washed off.
Use a clean cotton swab and a fresh drop. Do not paint broken or bleeding lips. If you want no color at all, skip the beetroot and do not use this recipe.
Ingredients
- 1/4 teaspoon ghee
- 1 drop of fresh beetroot juice
- a clean cotton swab for the ghee mix
How to prepare
- Stir one drop of fresh beetroot juice into a small amount of ghee.
- Stop there. Do not add more juice to force a darker color.
How to use
- Pat the lips dry. Skip this if the lips are split or bleeding.
- Dab a tiny amount on with a clean cotton swab.
- Wipe it off later with a soft cloth. Do not expect the color to stay.
Helpful habits
- Keep the mix off pale cloth. Beetroot can leave a mark.
- Make a drop at a time. Leftover juice stains fingers and bowls.
Precautions
- External use only. This tint is not a food color to swallow by the spoon.
- Patch test near the mouth on intact skin and wait a day if beetroot or ghee bothers you.
- Do not use it on broken, split, or bleeding lips. Stop if the lips sting.
Frequently asked questions
Is this ghee beetroot lip tint a dye?
- No. It is a light tint from one drop of juice. It is not meant to dye the lips.
Will the pink color stay?
- Do not expect it to stay. Wipe it off. A soft pink may sit until you wash it, and cloth can stain.
Can I use more beetroot for a stronger color?
- No. The recipe is one drop in a little ghee, not a stain you build up.
