A drop of ghee rubbed only on the soles at night

Ghee belongs on the soles, not the eyes

Some households rub a little ghee on the feet at night as a calming kitchen habit when the eyes feel strained from the day. The link is traditional and supportive. It does not change eyesight.

Ghee is only rubbed on the soles. Nothing goes into the eye. No homemade eyewash, and no ghee, rose water, milk, or cucumber goes inside the eye.

Ingredients

  • A few drops of ghee
  • Clean, dry soles
  • A small cotton cloth to wipe extra ghee

How to prepare

  1. Wash and dry the feet. Take a drop of ghee on a fingertip.
  2. Keep ghee away from the face, the eyes, and any cotton meant for the lids.

How to use

  • Rub the drop of ghee into each sole for half a minute.
  • Put on cotton socks if you do not want ghee on the sheet.
  • Leave the eyes alone. Do not touch them with the ghee-smeared finger.

Helpful habits

  • A drop is enough. A large spoonful only makes the floor slippery.
  • Wash the hands after the rub so ghee is not carried to the eyes later.

Precautions

  • Ghee is only rubbed on the soles. Nothing goes into the eye. No homemade eyewash.
  • No ghee, rose water, milk, or cucumber goes inside the eye. Do not warm ghee and drop it anywhere near the lashes.
  • This is not a vision remedy. Sudden blur, pain, or injury needs a doctor, not ghee.
