Turmeric and Coconut Oil Gum Dab
Mix a pinch of turmeric into a drop of coconut oil, dab it on irritated gums, then rinse and spit. It can stain cloth. It is not a gum cure.

A turmeric and coconut oil dab on gums
Turmeric stains fingers, cloth, and sometimes the edge of a sink. That is expected. The dab is a thin yellow film, left for a few minutes, then washed off with water you spit out.
Do not pack turmeric into a wound, and do not use it on a gum boil. Swelling, pus, fever, or pain that stops chewing needs a dentist. A yellow mark on a towel is only the spice.
Ingredients
- A pinch of turmeric
- 2 to 3 drops of coconut oil
- A little extra coconut oil only if the turmeric paste is too dry
How to prepare
- Mix the turmeric into the coconut oil to make a tiny paste.
- Wash your hands and use a clean fingertip or cotton swab.
How to use
- Dab a thin film on the irritated gum and leave it only a few minutes.
- Rinse with water and spit until the yellow paste is gone.
- Wash cloth and fingers soon, because turmeric can stain cloth.
Helpful habits
- An old cloth under the chin catches drips.
- Less turmeric stains less and is enough for this dab.
Precautions
- Spit out the rinse. Do not leave the paste on overnight.
- Turmeric can stain cloth, toothbrushes, and sink edges. Keep it off clothes you care about.
- Stop if it burns. It does not treat infection or a dental abscess.
Frequently asked questions
Do I leave turmeric on the gums all night?
- No. A few minutes, then rinse and spit the water out.
Why did the cloth turn yellow?
- Turmeric can stain cloth. That is the spice, not a sign that the dab worked.
Can this dab cure a gum abscess?
- No. Swelling, pus, fever, or pain that stops chewing needs a dentist.
