Weekly Brahmi Oil Rub for the Scalp
Brahmi leaves are warmed in sesame oil, strained, and one spoon of the cooled oil is massaged into the scalp once a week.

A once-a-week brahmi oil scalp rub
Fresh brahmi leaves go into sesame oil over the lowest heat until they soften and dull. Strain them out and let the oil cool fully before it touches the head. Once a week, one spoon is enough to cover the scalp with the fingertips.
Keep this oil on the skin and hair only, then shampoo it out the same day. Do not drink it, and do not leave a heavy coat on overnight. The rub is a plain weekly habit for a scalp that feels dry. It is not medicine for hair loss, thick flakes, or a sore scalp.
Ingredients
- A small handful of fresh brahmi leaves
- 4 tablespoons sesame oil for the infusion
- 1 tablespoon cooled brahmi and sesame oil for the rub
How to prepare
- Warm the brahmi leaves in sesame oil on the lowest heat until the leaves dull, then strain and cool the oil completely.
- Keep the cooled oil in a clean closed jar and use it within a week. Discard it if the smell turns sharp or stale.
How to use
- Once a week, take one spoon of the cooled brahmi oil and part the hair in sections.
- Massage that spoon into the scalp with the fingertips for a few minutes.
- Wash the sesame oil out with shampoo the same day.
Helpful habits
- One spoon is the whole amount. Oiling every strand only makes the wash longer.
- Label the jar so this scalp oil is not used by mistake in the pan.
Precautions
- Never put the oil on while it is warm from the stove. Stop if the scalp stings.
- Skip broken or infected skin, and keep the oil out of the eyes.
- External use only. This weekly rub is not medicine for hair loss.
